Emil Ghieh Melfald received his MSc degree in Electrical Power Engineering from the University of South–Eastern Norway (USN) in 2020. He worked one year as a research assistant at USN (2020 to 2021) before starting his Ph.D. work in august of 2021. Since then, he has been working on energy losses and minimal power loss control for synchronous machines in hydropower systems as part of WP1 in the SysOpt project.
